Gion Festival

Hosted by the Yasaka Jinja Shrine, this festival is dedicated to preventing illness and peaks with Mikoshi-Togyo, a procession of portable shrines (July 17), and Yamahoko Junko, an incredible parade of floats (July 24).

Korean Shaved Ice Bingsu
Bingsu, or Korean shaved ice, has been causing a stir for its beautiful and delicious arrangements. Doubletree by Hilton Kyoto Higashiyama will serve two special flavors this year. The mango option is rich in tropical fruit, while the matcha variety will bring Kyoto’s
specialty to a new form.

Takashi Murakami Mononoke Kyoto
The Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art welcomes you to Takashi Murakami Mononoke Kyoto.
This event marks his first in Japan in almost a decade and his first outside Tokyo.
The internationally renowned artist explores society and art through various artistic visual media.
