MK Guide Recommends
Established in 1987, the Meito Art Museum relocated to Nagakute City in 1992 to offer visitors a tranquil setting surrounded by nature. The museum's collection focuses on modern and contemporary Japanese paintings, featuring works by renowned artists such as Yokoyama Taikan, Kawabata Gyokusho, and Hirayama Ikuo. Notably, the museum houses exquisite bijin-ga (portraits of beautiful women) by artists like Kamisaka Sekka, Kaburaki Kiyokata, and Ito Shinsui. In addition to its permanent collection, the museum organizes seasonal exhibitions and educational programs to promote Japanese art.
